PetGait™ is made by PetWalk, Inc. ("PetWalk", "we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the PetGait app for iPhone and iPad.
**The short version:** PetGait analyzes your pet's walks, face photos and rise tests **on your device**. Your videos, photos and pet profiles never leave your phone. The only thing we ever receive is anonymous walking data, and only if you choose to share it.
## 1. Information that stays on your device
- **Videos and photos** you record or import (walks, face check-ups, rise tests, pet profile photos).
- **Pet profiles**: names, photos, breed, birthday.
- **Results**: gait scores, gait age, grimace scores, eye check-ups, rise-test times and history.
All analysis runs on your device using built-in models. We do not receive, store or have access to any of this. It is deleted when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. If you choose to share a result (for example a gait-age card), it goes only where you send it, using the standard iOS share sheet.
## 2. Optional: anonymous walking data (opt-in)
PetGait asks whether you'd like to help improve pet gait analysis. **This is off unless you say yes**, and declining does not change how the app works.
If you opt in, after each analyzed walk we receive:
- **Skeleton keypoints**: the positions of points on your pet's body (eyes, nose, shoulders, hips, paws and so on) frame by frame, with timing. **No video frames or images.**
- **Basic pet details**: species (dog or cat), and breed and age only if you entered them.
- **Technical details**: app version, iOS version, and a random ID generated by the app so walks from the same install can be grouped. This ID is not your device ID or advertising ID, is not linked to you, and is reset if you reinstall the app.
We **never** receive your videos, photos, your name, your pet's name, contact details, location or device identifiers.
**Why:** to train and improve the models that measure pet gait.
**Legal basis (EU/UK users):** your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
**Changing your mind:** open PetGait → the ⚙︎ gear on the home screen → Settings → turn off **Share Anonymous Walking Data**. This stops all future uploads and deletes any data still waiting on your device to be sent. Because shared data contains no information that identifies you, we cannot locate and delete walks that were already received.
**Where it's stored:** with Cloudflare (our hosting provider). Data from the European Union is stored on EU infrastructure; other data is stored in North America. Data is encrypted in transit. As with any internet connection, our hosting provider handles your IP address to deliver the upload, but we do not store IP addresses or any location information.
## 3. Camera, photos and microphone
PetGait asks for these permissions only to record walks, take face check-up photos, scan the floor with AR for measurements, import videos and photos, and save analyzed videos to your library. Everything stays on your device.
## 4. Advertising and tracking
PetGait currently shows no ads and does not track you across apps or websites. If we add advertising in a future version, we will update this policy and ask for any permission iOS requires before then.
## 5. Children
PetGait is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
## 6. Health disclaimer
PetGait is a wellness tool. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition and is not a substitute for veterinary care.
## 7. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes to data sharing will be explained in the app before they apply.
